"We are all storytellers. We all live in a network of stories. There isn't a stronger connection between people than storytelling."

Let's start with the why

There's nothing I love more than finding the method in the madness.

As a student architect and urban planner, I saw the beauty of, and the value in, design — but felt something was lacking in my experience. Instead, I cultivated my passion for photography, turning a hobby into a full-time job across freelance projects and in-house positions in a range of fields. Being behind the camera taught me the power of observation, and that yes, a picture really could tell a thousand words.

Looking back, I know what I was missing as an architecture student, and what I enjoyed most about photography: the connection formed between two people. The effort it takes to really understand someone and see things their way. It was this sense of connection that drove me to pursue a career in UX, working across projects for multinational organisations and local start-ups, from strategy through to production.

Today I bring that same instinct to words. As a Content Writer at Mantel, I sit down with experts, tease out what they know, and decide what story is worth telling and how, across case studies, thought leadership and our newsletter. I’m also the voice you hear at the start of every episode of the AI Australia Podcast. I look after our tone of voice so everything sounds like Mantel, while making sure each author still sounds like themselves. It’s collaborative work, and the best pieces are written together.

Outside of work, I’m a few things: an avid Arsenal fan (Champions of England, we know what we are!), still a casual photographer from time to time, and just someone who enjoys eating. I’ve also recently taken up running; if you enjoy pavement pounding, Melbourne is undoubtedly one of the best cities in the world to live in.

That’s still what drives me: the moment two people understand each other a little better. If that sounds like something you’re working towards too, let’s talk.
